NUMBERCheck in use for the automotive industry
The BMW plant in Regensburg also uses NUMBERCheck, our automated number recognition system for rail & road.
The Regensburg plant produces eight different vehicle variants. Flawless processes are the prerequisite for building automobiles of the highest quality and inspiring customers.
Reliable and transparent logistics play a major role in production, both in the delivery of components and in the removal of production waste.*
This is where ASE comes into play: the metal waste produced in the stamping plant is transported on DB Cargo's own railway tracks for recycling purposes (melting down). For the exact determination of weight/quantity and thus also for the monetary evaluation of the loads, a track scale including UIC wagon number recognition from ASE has been installed. Thus, a correct reimbursement for the raw material can be achieved by exact allocation of wagon number and weight.
The system was put into operation in December 2015. In the meantime, ASE has signed a maintenance contract with BMW. Although we work with highly efficient hardware and software components, there may be failures due to wear and tear, as with other products or systems. In order to counteract this in good time, we offer annual hardware and software maintenance of our systems. The maintenance of the contract hardware at BMW Regensburg includes the regular technical inspection on site as well as all work required to maintain the trouble-free operation of the plant.
Greetings from Bruchsal, your ASE team!
